A PowerPoint is a slide show format created by Microsoft that has established market dominance. When you make presentations using PowerPoint, you always insert some media to make the PPT more interesting and appealing, right? However, a problem may occur when you want to insert Apple's QuickTime MOV file format on a slide since PowerPoint for Windows does not natively play QuickTime files. Fortunately, there are two ways for you to play a QuickTime movie during your presentation, do one of the following.
Create a hyperlink to the QuickTime movie. During your presentation, click the linked object or text, and QuickTime for Windows will start and play the movie automatically.
Method 2: Convert the QuickTime MOV file to a format that PowerPoint can play.
Note: This first method may not work, the second is an effective way to achieve your goal effortlessly. And here I will introduce how to convert QuickTime MOV to PowerPoint compatible video in detail.
First of all, download and install EaseFab Video Converter (available for Windows and Mac users).

The Steps: Converting QuickTime MOV file to PowerPoint compatible format
Step 1: Drag and drop MOV files to the app. Or you can click "Add Video" button to locate the MOV files you want to add. The app supports batch conversion, so you can add more than one file at a time.
Step 2: Click the drop-down button beside "Profile" on the interface to select PowerPoint compatible video formats from "Common Video" category. For PowerPoint 2013 and later, please choose MP4 as the output formats. The output videos is an MP4 file with H.264 codec and AAC aduio. For Powerpoint 2010 and lower, you can select AVI or WMV as the output format.
For advanced functions?
1. Click the "Edit" button to open the Video Edit window to achieve editing MOV like trim, crop, image, watermark, effect, subtitles and rotate and etc in the corresponding editing pane.
2. Click the "Setting" button to open the Settings window to adjust the output video codec, resolution, bitrates, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio codec, channel, volume and etc in the advanced tab.
Step 3: Press on "Convert" to start encoding MOV Videos to Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation playable video.
Step 4: Embed converted FLV video in PowerPoint
Before starting adding video to PowerPoint, you need to create a folder and put both your converted video and your PowerPoint presentation in this folder. Then open the PowerPoint in this folder to insert the converted QuickTime movie which is just located in this folder.
For PowerPoint 2007 and higher, select Insert tab from ribbon, and click Movie and select the converted file to insert into PowerPoint for playback.
For PowerPoint 2003 and lower, from menu, select Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Movie from File..., and select the converted file to insert into PowerPoint.
